Continue monitoring for rust
According to the Prairie Crop Disease Monitoring Network (PCDMN), most of the risk of rust blowing in from the US has diminished. However, the prairie region has now become a local source for rust. This means that spread can still occur between regions in the province. For those crops that are well past flowering, this is less of a concern. However, late seeded cereal crops still have the potential to be impacted by rust moving in from other regions of the province. For this reason, those farmers with late seeded crops still need to remain diligent in monitoring for rust.
