Research Funding

On behalf of Alberta barley producers, the Alberta Barley Commission coordinates and sponsors research which will move the barley industry forward and contribute to the economic well-being of the province’s barley producers.

Extensive research and development focuses on barley technology. Much of the research is conducted at universities, government institutions, and at pilot plant and processing facilities. In addition, collaborative associations make Canada a leader in varietal and processing development.

Disclaimer: The Alberta Barley Commission will protect confidentiality of all research projects, by only publishing results on the internet that have been made public.
