| In a
medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce
heat and cook uncovered for 5 to 7 minutes until desire consistency is reached, stirring
occasionally. Cover and let stand for 2 minutes before serving. Serves 4. Variations: Add raisins and sliced apricots 2 minutes
before the end of cooking. To make a simple barley porridge, cook 1 part barley flakes
with 2 parts water and salt to taste.
