Alberta Barley - a hearty, healthy choice!

The Different Cookie
This recipe was invented by a woman who enjoys the rich taste of the barley flour and is a regular user of it in her baking.

almond extract

whole barley flour
whole wheat flour
oatmeal
cinnamon
nutmeg
salt
chopped pecans

Blend margarine and sugar together well, then beat in eggs and almond extract. Add all the dry ingredients, and mix well. Roll into balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with the base of a glass, and bake at 350° F (180° C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
