The Cereal Protein and Cellulose Program (CP)2 is a research program through the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science (AFNS) at the University of Alberta. Led by Dr. Lingyun Chen, the program’s mission is to create and develop competitive advantages in value-added product development for Western Canadian crops and forestry resources, with an emphasis on plant proteins and wood cellulose.
The program aims to develop natural and sustainable alternatives to replace or partially replace synthetic or non-renewable ingredients through innovative and systematic research and development. It also aims to become an expert resource for industry partners with innovative and value-added product development.
