Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre (CMBTC)

The Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre (CMBTC) is a non-profit, independent organization that is funded in part by members of the malting barley and malt industry. The CMBTC offers support to all components of the malting industry through research, development and technical assistance. It’s primary focus, however, is market development.

With the assistance of Alberta Barley and the wheat and barley check-off, CMBTC is working on a number of projects on malt barley that will benefit Alberta barley farmers. The CMBTC is dedicating work to help commercialize new malting barley varieties, producing commercial data that the CMBTC can share with consumers and use to promote Canadian malt barley.
