Double-Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups barley flour
-
1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups chocolate chips1 cup walnuts or pecans
Directions

In a medium bowl, cream butter and shortening, and slowly add sugars.

Add eggs and vanilla.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl, then add to butter-sugar mixture.

Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Let cool on cookie sheet before removing.
Yield: 4 dozen.
