Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups Hamilton's barley flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar.
- Beat in eggs, baking soda, salt and vanilla.
- Stir in barley flour, then chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375F (190C) for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Remove cookies from cookie sheet after they have cooled for a few minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies. This recipe can be doubled with excellent results.
