Eugene Boyko Scholarship

The Alberta Barley Commission created the Eugene Boyko Memorial Scholarship in 2002 as a salute to the late Eugene Boyko, a barley producer and longtime Commission director known for his commitment to agriculture and farming innovation.

The $500 scholarship recognizes and encourages students in crop production and/or crop technology studies.

Scholarship guidelines:

  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent Canadian residents living in Alberta
  • Applicants must be attending a post-secondary institution in Alberta, enrolled in the second or subsequent year of post-secondary study and enrolled full-time
  • Students can only receive the scholarship once
  • Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement in their previous year of post-secondary studies
  • The application deadline each year is Aug. 1.
